Delhi is home to some of the best Pan Asian restaurants in the country. If you are specifically looking for an opulent selection of traditional oriental cuisine to invigorate your taste buds, head straight to the third floor of the plush Ambience Mall in Vasant Kunj and look for the Kylin Premier.
By a stroke of luck, I was invited to review the property last week. And guess who I bumped into at the restaurant? None other than Saurabh Khanijo, the owner of Welgrow Group, better known as the man behind the popular Kylin brand of restaurants.

Saurabh came across as an extremely passionate hotelier. We spent a great deal of time together, chit-chatting about his entrepreneurial journey and two of his most ambitious ventures - the Kylin Premier and the Kylin Skybar.

My first impression of the restaurant was that it was just like any other elite fine-dining restaurant in the city. This was until I discovered the live Teppanyaki grill. Who doesn't like the sight of a highly trained chef preparing authentic oriental dishes one after the other right in front of your eyes! Plus such intricate knife work, theatrics, and not to forget, gobsmacking food. Sitting near the live Teppanyaki grill was truly a unique experience!

As I went through a journey through the East, I couldn't help but reminisce the time I'd spent in Tokyo a few years ago. Kylin offers such a wide array of options to choose from. Enjoy a lavish spread of Sushi, Dimsums, Salads, Woks, Tempura, Teppanyaki, Khow Suey, Barbeque, and much more.
If you're not fond of barbeque food, you could head straightaway for the Sushi Bar or Dim Sum Bar. Every corner at Kylin is designed to cater to a specific need.
My personal favourites included:
- Bok choy and water chestnuts crystal dumplings

If you're wondering what better to do on a lazy Sunday wintery afternoon, there's good news around the corner. Be a part of the Sunday Sundowner at the Kylin Skybar.
Every Sunday from 12 noon to 5 pm, indulge in free flowing beer, terrace barbeque with the juiciest meats, and non-stop entertainment - at an affordable price of INR 995 per head. Sunbathe as you brunch, this is a sundowner like no other.
Kylin is not just a preferred destination for great Japanese or Chinese food; here you could also order authentic oriental cuisine from Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Korea and Thailand. If you fret about calorie intake every now and then, go for the Kylin Light, a classic detox menu where the focus is on fresh ingredients and healthy cooking, so neither health nor taste is compromised.
Kylin Premier and Skybar offer enough reasons to keep coming back again and again. Since the best of the Orient is now closer to you, go impress your friends, family, clients or colleagues with an exceptional fine-dining experience!
