Mystique Melange - Not Just Another Fine Dining Restaurant

Last month I was invited to a bloggers table at Mystique Melange, a newly opened fine dining restaurant in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. Not knowing what to expect frankly, I turned to the web to research about the property and the type of cuisine they offer.

First things first. Mystique Melange is not just another restaurant that serves world cuisine to its patrons. As a matter of fact, ever since the property opened in the first week of February this year, it is hailed for best in class services and amenities like a lounge, a hotel with 25 well-appointed rooms, a restro bar, and a banquet.

Once you're in the vicinity of North-West Delhi, it becomes relatively easier to locate the property. That said, I'd still suggest you make your own travel arrangements instead of relying on public transport to reach this place.

Me with other food bloggers at Mystique Melange

Brainchild of restaurateurs, Anshul Arora, Naveen Sachdeva, and Somesh Pathak, Mystique Melange is the perfect destination for savoring North Indian, Mughlai, Chinese, and Continental cuisines.

The 80-cover fine dining restaurant is located on the first level. It offers an aura of heightened experience, with a chic ambience and decor, inspired by both modernity as well as space. I couldn't help but admire the bright, bold colors used throughout the interiors; the eccentric design embraces the originality of the place, putting it in a different league altogether. There is enough room for everyone to move around, and even on busy days, you would never feel claustrophobic.

I can easily see this place transform into a stamping ground for business/corporate get together, wedding functions, kitty parties, etc.

The restaurant operates all day long, 7 days a week from 12 noon to 12 midnight. Apart from enjoying great multi-cuisine food, you could also see popular bands (like Peprico) and solo singers (like Abhishek Ranjan) perform live three times a week. The kind of music you can expect includes Sufiyana, Bollywood, and Instrumental.

The kitchen is in the capable hands of head chef, Rahul Sood, who specializes in Indian, Oriental, and Continental cuisines - often wearing the hat of a mixologist as well to churn out a classic assortment of hot and cold beverages to complement the delicacies.

On your next visit to Mystique Melange, make sure to check out the Prive Room with a lounge bar. The best part of this bar is that it is stocked with the best international and domestic beverages from around the world. You can order from a wide choice of innovative cocktails or mocktails and get high after a long, hectic day.

If you're in the mood of alfresco seating, do check out the open terrace, which is currently reserved for exclusive parties and celebrations only. On a beautiful breezy day, the open terrace will be perfect to host small receptions, special mehfils, and open functions.

Here are my top recommendations for food and beverages at the Mystique Melange.

Mocktails
[My Rating: 5 out of 5]

Go for the Paan Gulkand Mojito (my favorite), Aam Panna Mojito, or Watermelon Mojito. These refreshing, summery mocktails will not only quench your thirst in the first place but will also make you fall in love with its unique flavors. If you want something minty, order the delectable Mint Fizz cocktail.

Salads
[My Rating: 4.5 out of 5]

Two salads I absolutely loved at Mystique Melange are the Smoked Chicken Caesar and Greek Salad.

The former contains smoked chicken breast with crispy greens, along with a classy combination of sundried tomatoes, croutons tossed in homemade lemon, and Parmesan Caesar dressing.

The latter contains crisp iceberg, chilled cucumber, cherry tomatoes, red onion, melon scoops, sundried tomatoes, and Greek feta cheese with fresh herb vinaigrette.

Hummus Bil Lamhe

I am a huge fan of barbecued mutton where the meat is smoked over charcoal and wood, not gas. Quite naturally, I found this spicy pulled lamb bonkers delicious, with chili flakes and garlic on a bed of hummus.

Desserts

Kala Jamun with Homemade Thandai Ice Cream

Finally, I liked everything at Mystique Melange. Even though you'll discover minor glitches here and there in terms of food preparation, it quite doesn't matter as the exceptional service makes up for everything else.
