Introducing Depot48 - Original Music, Inspired Food

While dining out, have you ever craved for a contemporary global cuisine, world-class bar, and original music from the most talented musicians in the town? If your response is in the affirmative, look no further as Depot48 is now live.

Located in a quaint lil corner of the N Block Market in Greater Kailash I, New Delhi, Depot48 is a new hunting ground for connoisseurs of original music and inspired food. Brainchild of popular restaurateurs, Vikas Narula and Girjashanker Vohra, Depot48 introduces a wider variety of café style cuisine, complimenting it with the kind of music you'd typically hear in a concert venue.

I checked in last week with the Mrs to see what the buzz was all about!

Interiors

You don't have to be a 70's kid in particular to admire the huge wall of audio cassettes woven into iron at Depot48. The design philosophy is hugely contemporary, inspired by a classic display of personalized memorabilia, such as the beautifully framed black-and-white photographs taken by the owners from their travels around the globe.

Another highlight at Depot48 IMHO is the gray hues of the space. I quite loved the exposed cream brick walls, filament bulbs, and seating mix of leather couches plus wicker chairs.

Music

If you're looking for a place to enjoy popular and independent music, Depot48 is the place to be, with gigs held every weekend. As a matter of fact, Depot48 is a crusader of both breakout Indie acts and established bands from every genre of music, including Jazz, RnB, Blues, Pop, World, and Regional.

On weekdays/non-gig days, get ready to be serenaded by an eclectic selection of commercial music.

All upcoming artists and promoters of independent music are encouraged to leverage the world-class recording facility at Depot48 called the Depot Records. As a commitment to support the Indie music revolution while continuing an in-depth involvement with artists, the owners have generously offered to record artists at Depot's recording studio. The bigger plan is to launch their own record label soon.

The venue sports an intimate stage surrounded by tables, plus QSC, a world leader in pro audio equipment, has also been installed.

The best part about these gigs is that they are free, with a suggested donation for each artist.

Talking of food, Depot48 brings a wider variety of café style cuisine.

Here are my top recommendations for food and beverage at Depot48.

• English Flower: Gin stirred gently with guava juice, elderflower, and fresh lime, served straight up in a chilled Martini glass with a light spray of rose to finish. Most enjoyed on a high chair at the swanky new bar.
