Rohini Gets A Dubliin Square

A couple of weeks ago I was invited to be part of a bloggers table at Dubliin Square - restaurant, lounge, and brewery nestled inside the first and second floors of the Manglam Paradise Mall in Sector 3, Rohini, New Delhi.

The brainchild of first-time restaurateurs Abhishek Saran and Raman Gandotra, Dubliin Square is hailed for its new multi-cuisine restaurant opened in December last year. By offering the choicest menu options to its patrons, the place is slowly transforming into a much-preferred foodie destination for both families and friends alike.

In this blog post, I review the Dubliin Square property and make recommendations for what you should try or avoid.

The live kitchen is operational daily from 11 am till 1 am; which means that you can visit them for brunches, buffets or dinner, based on your convenience.

The happy hours start at 5 pm and end at 9 pm every day; if you're visiting them on a weekend, the timings are from 5 pm to 8 pm.

What I really like about this property is that their menu has the best assortment of Chinese, Italian, and Indian/Pakistani cuisines, with varied options for vegetarians and seafood lovers in particular.

The kitchen is in the capable hands of Abhishek Saran, who wears the dual hat of Technical Chef and Managing Director. He has been associated with the F&B service industry for nearly three decades and carries forward his vast experience of working with large food MNCs in India and abroad. Abhishek is a Hotel Management graduate from St. Marys College, Bangalore and has a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing from The International University (TIU) in Missouri, USA.

Dubliin Square

From the moment you step into Dubliin Square, you can't help but admire the Irish theme, subtlely complemented by well-lit interiors, spacious seating, and traditional Irish music. This might be done intentionally I suppose, keeping in tune with the idea of familiarizing people with the culture of Ireland. The new restaurant can easily accommodate over 120 people at any given time.

The service seems to be a bit slow IMHO but that's not to say the staff is unresponsive. In fact, the staff is pretty knowledgeable and will provide you detailed information about each dish in the menu.

Appetizers

Multani Paneer Tikka

A chef special, this melt-in-your-mouth vegetarian starter provides the perfect start to your fine dining experience. Made of evenly diced cottage cheese chunks layered with aroma rich Indian spices and herbs.

Multani Paneer Tikka

Vegetable Spring Roll

Hot and crispy fried rolls stuffed with assorted vegetables. Best served with chili sauce.

Bhuttey De Kebab

These pan-fried corn kebabs are to die for! The stuffing contains a tender mix of sweet corn poached with herbs, cottage cheese, pomegranate seeds (anardana), and chopped green chili.

If you're a non-vegetarian, don't forget to try the Chicken Cheese Seekh Kebab and Chicken Gilafi Seekh.

Chicken Cheese Kebab

Chicken White Sauce

Chef's idea to serve crisp, tender chicken (instead of fish) with creamy white sauce seems to have worked really well. The chicken is cooked to perfection and then smothered in the most delicious sauce ever.

Chicken Harissa

For the uninitiated, harissa is a paste of olive oil, chili, garlic, and spices used in the North African cooking. In this dish, delicious pieces of chewy grilled chicken are coated with harissa, cumin, lemon zest, and juice.

Main Course

Rampuri Subz Biryani

Authentic, pot cooked vegetable biryani containing near perfect flavors of saffron and yellow chili powder. The recipe uses traditional Basmati and fresh vegetables.

Garlic Fried Rice and Rampuri Subz Biryani

Garlic Fried Rice

This sumptuous dish comes straight from the Chinese kitchen and contains chopped green peas and bell peppers with brown garlic flavor.

Curries

Among the vegetarian Indian curries, go for the Kadhai Paneer and Dal Makhani without batting an eyelid.

Kadhai Paneer

Thai Green Chicken Curry

Chicken Tikka Masala

Dal Makhani

Mushroom in Hot Garlic Sauce

If you're opting for curries from the Chinese kitchen, my recommendation would be the Mushroom in Hot Garlic Sauce. Thai curries are also available just in case (my favorite one is the Thai Green Chicken Curry).

Murg Methi Malai and Dilli Da Butter Chicken

Rara Gosht

Essentially a Himachali dish where the thick mutton gravy is cooked with yogurt and choicest Indian herbs and spices.

Desserts

If you also have a sweet tooth like yours truly, go for the Shahi Tukra (a. k. a. Double ka meetha) and Moong Dal Halwa.

Finally, a prior reservation to Dubliin Square is preferred, especially when you're coming in groups or with kids.

Suffice to say that Dubliin Square is like the jewel in the crown of Rohini's ever-growing F&B outlets.
