In this blog post, I cover The Kimono Club, a modern fine-dining Asian bar and restaurant in New Delhi's Diplomatic Enclave.
How often do you visit a restaurant whose theme centers around pure decadence and pampering? A place which takes 'less is more' quite seriously, where 'more' is not enough!
Imagination meets luxury dining at The Kimono Club, a new modern Asian bar and restaurant in Chanakyapuri, the capital's Diplomatic Enclave.
The brainchild of India's hospitality mavericks Ashish Dev Kapur and Joydeep Singh, The Kimono Club comes from the house of Whisky Samba, The Wine Company, The Wine Rack, and Antares. Hail the genius of Chef Vikramjit Roy, who leaves no stone unturned this time around to surprise you.
To say that the luxe offering exceeds your expectations will be an understatement. Be it food, drinks, ambiance, or service, The Kimono Club checks all the boxes one by one, providing an experience you would not want to miss.
There's a certain charm about lounging in a place of reflection and indulgence, and man, the paradox is delicious! With swinging geishas who can't wait to play dress-up with you and Champagne Butlers to cater to your whims and fancies, The Kimono Club will spoil you rotten!
Designer Freddy Birdy skillfully transforms the restaurant from a classic lunch venue to an eclectic nightspot. From vintage disco balls to modern chandeliers, the visually stunning design is thoughtfully done to express and impress in equal measure. Personally, I couldn't take my eyes off the opulent red couches, antique stained glasses, and oriental wallpapers that offset the beautiful crimson walls.
The real winner, however, is the elaborate fine-dining menu designed by one of India's most celebrated chef Vikramjit Roy. Evocative and no fuss, the menu revolves around the exciting dining experiences and nightlife of Asia. Expect an array of modern Japanese, Chinese, and Thai delicacies complemented by the most extensive spirits and wine list you can possibly think of!
Chef Vikramjit's food has always been a reflection of his journeys, particularly in Asia. Drawing nuances from the gastronomical cultures of China, Japan, and Thailand, the chef introduces a menu that celebrates technicality as well as precision.
With a focus on freshly sourced ingredients and ingenious flavors, Chef Vikramjit lends his occasional edgy twist to otherwise traditional dishes.
The elaborate menu includes signature dishes like the Wagarashi Prawns Almond Wasabi Aioli, Spiced Edamame with Truffle, Lamb and Young Onion Dumplings, Duck Carpaccio Yuzu Soy, Lobster and Truffle Dumpling, Ganmo Steak Teriyaki, and Tamari-glazed Sea Bass.
My Top 5 favorites included the Crispy Prawn Cheung Fun, Stir-fried Tofu with 5 Spice and Roasted Tomato, Duck Carpaccio Fujikko with Orange Ice, Chunky Tuna Tartare with Barley Miso, and the star of the evening, Black Cod Miso and Pickle Peppers.
Choose any one of the three distinct areas to dine: the dining room, the bar, and my favorite, the outdoor Trellis Garden.
Feel the high energy vibe with a 40 ft. Whiskey Bar at one end and a wine wall at the other. The Kimono Club also boasts of a live dimsum station, small plates, cold plates, raw salad bar, and much more.
Don't forget to press the 'Call-for-Champagne' buzzer kept at every table. Bring your taste buds into a gastronomical world of all things delicious and extraordinary!
At The Kimono Club, every moment is designed to be a celebration!

Oh I love the work Vandana has done for Ashish and Joydeep, certainly one of the bests. I was at the wine company just two days back and totally in awe of the perspective they have brought out in all these places. Antares is definitely my next stop
